3 things to know before booking your first bridal APPOINTMENT
If you’ve ever seen wedding dress shopping in the movies or “Say Yes to the Dress” then you probably imagine that shopping for your dream wedding dress will be a whirlwind of trying on hundreds of dresses, fielding opinions from a posse of well-meaning (but opinionated) friends and family members, lots of free champagne, and a salesperson who just wants to hit their numbers for the month.
This montage might make for some good TV moments (Bridesmaids anyone?!) but for once, reality should (and can!) be much more magical than what you’ve seen on the silver screen — The experience of shopping for your dream gown can be empowering, magical, and leave you feeling like the queen you are. That’s why after 18 years of experience, we’ve put together our top 3 tips to help set the stage for a reality more beautiful than you ever imagined (and yes, there will still be champagne!).
1) Don’t Shop Endlessly; Shop Intentionally
If there was only one thing we could tell every single bride, it would be this! Finding the perfect dress starts with finding the perfect bridal boutique for you.
That means researching on the front end to book an appointment with the boutique that fits your aesthetic, budget, and general style that you are drawn to. Instagram is a great way to get a feel for if you and the boutique will be a good fit!
2) Make a Plan;
Before Booking an Appointment
When working with an experienced bridal boutique you won’t have to worry about going to 15 different appointments. We encourage you to come into your first appointment with the intention of finding your gown and only bring the people whose opinions you value most.
Over-shopping can water down what would otherwise be a magical moment of falling in love with a gown that feels like you. Repeat after us: Wedding dress shopping is FUN!
